My Brethren,
I hope everyone has survived the blizzard of 2010 relatively unscathed. Mother Nature has thrown us a curve ball with regards to our regularly scheduled degree work but with a little juggling we look to be back on schedule. The petitions keep rolling in and this year continues to look like another banner year growing our Lodge. I invite you join us in welcoming our new brothers into our wonderful fraternity.
We continue to try to expand the social aspect of our Lodge. We have a few exciting events planned over the next two months which I encourage you to come out to and bring your families. The first event will be a movie night at the Lodge on Saturday March 27th. We will be showing the classic “The Man Who Would Be King”. Bring the family and a blanket and join us camped out in the Lodge room for this first of hopefully many such evenings.
We will have two events in April. On the 2nd we are going to McFadden Art Glass to watch a demonstration of traditional glass blowing. Family and friends are welcome to join us. If you would like a souvenir they will allow you to make one for a small fee. On the 24th we are going to honoring Brother Teddy Roosevelt on the 109th anniversary of his raising. We will start out at Ships Café on Frederick Rd in Catonsville and then those more adventurous will head down to Historic Ellicott City for a pub crawl. More information about these events and future ones are available on our website. www.palestinelodge189.com
Don’t forget to mark your calendar for our second meeting in April. We will be hosting our brothers from Manasseh Lodge # 182 , Manassas, VA. This has always been a wonderful continuing event that has fostered many strong friendships. You won’t want to miss the fun and fellowship!
It is also getting close to that time of year when Palestine Lodge will award its annual scholarship to a deserving High School Senior. Applications are still available, please contact the Junior Warden if you are interested.
Have a great spring and I’ll see you at Lodge!
Fraternally,
Arthur B. Redmond
Worshipful Master
